«Мария с таким энтузиазмом рассказывает о Лохе, что трудно себе, что девушка живёт в селе всего два года. Она родилась в Коломне — одном из самых крупных городов Подмосковья. Её папа военный и вслед за ним семья объездила всю страну. Пока наконец не обосновалась в Энгельсе Саратовской области. Там семье военных дали квартиру. Практически сразу же они начали искать дачу поблизости.»

Maria told about Loch with big enthusiasm that it`s hard to [imagine] that girl live in the vullage for only 2 years. She was born in Kolomna – one of the biggest cities of Podmoskowvie (Moscow area). Her father is a man of arms and her family was with him while his relocations.
After all they stayed in Engels, Saratov region. They get apartment [from the Ministry of defense]. Almost immediately they start to search for country house (dacha) nearby.

Maria tells about Lokh with such enthusiasm so you can hard imagine she's been living here for only two years. She was born in Kolomna, one of the largest towns in the Moscow region. Her father is a military officer so he and his family have lived in many places in Russia during his service. Eventually they settled in Engels, Saratov region. There they were given a flat. Almost immediatelly/ Very soon after that they began to look for a dacha (a summer house) in the nearby area.

But “не обосновалась” doesn’t that mean “didn’t settle down” ? not the opposite? since “не” is in the front

@Paulina909 no, it's not the opposite even though there's "НЕ"
it means they SETTLED

So, the family DID settle down there. 🤗
